Good rule but if everyone followed it there would be no horror movies at all. Plus anyone stupid enough to wander off into the dark alone, deserves what they get.

Expect to get killed if you take a shower.
If any inanimate objects come to life, leave the house.
Stay away from certain geographical locations, some of which are listed here: Amityville, Elm Street, Transylvania, the Bermuda Triangle, or any small town in Maine.
Beware of creeps and weirdos, especially those with chainsaws, axes, knives, etc.
Never make a pact with a demons or the devil.
