 | Djahuti (54) 03/24/2006 | Also known as "For the Faithful" this is excerpts from their well renowned acoustic sets at the Warfield Theater and Radio City Music Hall in the fall of 1980.It's a great recording for anyone who loves acoustic blues, folk and rock. The Dead were in top form here, and we are treated to a rollicking good selection of different material starting with "Dire Wolf" and a jaunty "The Race is On" ,a tender version of "Oh,Babe it ain't no lie" , really great renditions of "Dark Hollow","Been all around this World",a stunning "Jack-A-Roe",a get up n' stomp "Deep Elem Blues",a beautifully heartfelt "Rosalie McFall",a rousing "On the Road Again",and ending with the fan pleasing classics "Bird Song" and "Ripple".I didn't mention every song, but all of them are at LEAST good,if not stupendous. This is a good album for folks who don't care for the "space" type improvisation heard in most Dead shows.Pure Good Tunes!
