 | Drummond (54) 03/24/2006 | Lind is a protege of William Buckley and formerly wrote for National Review. He chroncles his journey leftward in a book entitled "Up from Conservatism," a play on Buckley's classic "Up from Socialism."
Lind has come under fire from fellow conservatives since his conversion, which is to be expected. But what is ironic is the harshness of words coming from David Horowitz, who has, with justification, complained about his treatment by his old friends after his own conversion. Apparently, it is only proper to convert in one direction. Horowitz was borderline angry with Buckley for continuing to publish Lind in National Review even after the conversion.
This article briefly summarizes the journeys of both, with a cute cartoon at the end.
