I respect these veterans unlike they respect John Kerry.

This is a rather popular and controversial one. Did John Kerry serve his country? Yes. Did he risk his life for our country? Yes. What seems to make most mad was his comments when he came home. He claimed that American troops were violent and tortured South Vietnamese citizens and their people. I don't think its right how any man in the military who only serves 4 months in the war can claim that American troops did all of these atrocities. Did Kerry lie about Vietnam? Maybe. Did he dishonor fellow soldiers? Absolutely. Do I see Kerry as a traitor to the country? Not at all. But if I was in Nam, and knew what really happened, maybe our opinions would be different. The truth is, no one really knows what happened over there. Does any of this have anything to due with the election. Yes, it does, but it shouldn't.

Well said, magellan.

Update: You guys are absolutely unbelievable. The man serves his country. Gets wounded. Is awarded medals for his bravery (last time i checked, you can't award yourself medals). Mock his Purple Hearts and you mock every Purple Heart ever awarded by our military. F*** you all if you think I'm going to sit here and let you mock folks who got wounded defending your right to shoot off your mouth. Again, there's lots of stuff to pick on with this man - how about the windsurfing? But to pick on his military service is disgraceful. You guys are either so brainwashed by propaganda aimed at morons who can't think for themselves, or are venomous, hypocritical snakes. Louie, you are the worst of the bunch. You should be ashamed. Original Comment: Louie, I don't appreciate your implication that the US military is corrupt and/or that purple heart awards are trivial. I believe that cheapens the sacrifices and contributions of our men and women in uniform.

An excellent site to let folks know what vets think of him.FYI:Kerry had 2 purple hearts that were from self inflicted wounds.Update:Well in some aspects the military probobly is corrupt. There is no such thing as a pure government organization.Anyways...How many days of service did Kerry miss with those horrible battle wounds???Anyone???The answer is 0.Some kind of wound.Kerry is a sellout! He lied before the Congressional panel and sold everyone of the soldiers and POW's in Nam!

The significance of this organization is that it rebuts Kerry's claim to war hero status. My opinion is that I don't think it is necessary, very few (other than democrat operatives and Kerry-fans) regard Kerry as a war hero due to his seditious activities after the war and the lack of an honorable discharge from the Naval Reserve in 1972. Veterans tend to honor his service in the theater, short though it may be (4 months) and many wonder how so many medals could be conferred in such a short tenure, when so many others fought with equal honor, for longer stints, receiving only an honorable discharge. Being honored by the North Vietnamese, by a picture and commendation in their War Museum, speaks volumes about this man's background. Facts are stubborn things.

Republican venom.

I think the implication is that Kerry abused the three purples equals a ticket home policy because he didn't want to serve his time, but just wanted to grab some medals for his planned career in politics.

Magellan, you can be sure that if Bush had a war record to be proud of, intead of one to be embarrassed about, Louie would be trumpeting the glorius military. And if Bush had ever been awarded any Purple Hearts(why does the very idea inspire raucous laughter?) you can be sure Louie would be rhapsodizing about Bush's valor.

I looked over this site briefly, and would have to do some serious research to satisfy myself that everything it states is indeed true, although it does seem to present its facts (if indeed they are facts) logically and fairly rationally. For louiethe20th, I'm not sure where you got your information that two of Kerry's PH wounds were self-inflicted - the VVAK site does not seem to indicate that at all. I think the may have overplayed the extent of at least one of his wounds, but self-inflicted wounds are not looked upon kindly by the military. Last I heard they were a court-martial offense. Don't anyone get the impression that I'm going to go out and vote for Kerry, but let's try to look at things truthfully. I'll add as a postscript that I don't classify Kerry as a hero, either - when he fished the guy out of the river, he was only doing what he was supposed and expected to do as an officer. If he hadn't, he'd have been derelict in his duty.

Excellent site on the Truth about John Kerry. See the photo of John Kerry and Chairman Mao and the Veit Cong flag at www.politisite.com
