Maybe when he was first starting out, the clean-shaven thing worked, but the older he gets the less I think he should shave. I don't think he'd be the same without the facial hair. This look just suits him...

Ole Willies got my respect whether he shaves or not.I saw him last summer on tour,and he put on a great show.He could teach the country music newbies a lot if they'd just check their huge egos and listen to the real item.

I saw a clip of him from the early 1960's. he was clean shaven, short dark hair. I almost did not recognize him. he looks nice now. his beard and long hair tied back suits him.
