Unless it's extreme (i.e. wearing stuff that you haven't washed in like a week), most guys don't care, as far as I know.
It also depends on the meaning of "female counterpart"; many guys will be looking for a different type of girl depending on if they want a full-on relationship or just someone they want for the night. When the guys (as in, my friends, not all guys) go to the bars/clubs, they're looking for the girl wearing the least amount of clothing that's still legal (questionably); but most of the guys wouldn't want them for anything long-term.

03/27/2006 | Yeah, most guys don't want a woman who has to squish herself into her clothes. C'mon ladies, BUY CLOTHES THAT FIT YOU! There's nothing more disgusting than dressing like a...well you know.
Most people that know me deem me as well dressed since I'm almost always wearing my typical black pinstripe pants, black button up shirt that's halfway buttoned with a spaghetti strap shirt underneath it. I'm kind of the business-y casual type dresser.

03/23/2006 | A woman who tries to save money buying used clothing is a plus in my book! I see quite a few women wear good used clothing. 93century advises women to watch "The Look For Less" on the Style network.
