 | 93century (36) 03/28/2006 | Since i like to shop at second hand, and dollar stores, it would be nice to find someone who shares those interest's. That way when the thrill goes away, we still have something in common.

 | Vudija (92) 03/27/2006 | I'm with Kamy: There are certain things that a couple shouldn't necessarily be cheap about (she mentions furniture, which I agree with). I understand watching out for women with a massive shoe collection, a designer label fetish, and maxed out credit cards though. There should be a happy medium with just about everything in a relationship, including with the amount of money coming in and out of the household.

 | kamylienne (77) 03/25/2006 | To a point, I would imagine this would be an issue.
To me, "Thrifty" has the connotation of just buying cheap stuff; I think it's also kind of important to also shop for quality within reason of price (put it this way: sure, you can save a lot of money if you buy all of your furniture from Wal-Mart, but chances are you're going to end up spending more in replacing the substandard furniture than you would in spending a little more at the outset in buying something that lasts. I mean, you don't need to buy designer everything, but something that isn't made entirely of 1/4" plywood would be nice).
I think most guys (that I know, at least) generally want a somewhat realistic woman in terms of finances.

 | SZinHonshu (44) 03/25/2006 | More importantly, avoid females who are fiscally irresponsible. Maxed out credit cards, questions about bankruptcy and phone messages from creditors left on his girlfriend's answering machine should alert any male suitor about the nice young lady with whom he is involved. This ain't marriage material, dudes.
And I'm sure Mike Holly will back me up on this one!

 | DumbBlondeCowgirl (23) 03/25/2006 | A certain amount of thriftiness is important. You have responsibilities. Bills need to be paid, necessities need to be bought. The kids always come first. Once in a while though, every one needs a treat.

 | Djahuti (54) 03/25/2006 | It's a good thing to be thrifty, male or female. So many people are debt-slaves because of their stupid credit habits. As far as a female partner goes,Ive had thrifty ones and not so thrifty ones.I didn't object to their spending sprees too much because they both made good money and who am I to tell them how to spend it? I did point out to one lady some wasteful habits, but it wasn't a huge issue.

 | souljunkie (20) 03/24/2006 | I am sourrounded by a few guys who in my opinion married poorly. This is a common quality of all of their wives. Middle class families where the woman spends the money like its nothing and don't work either!! I will never understand guys who put up with this.

 | Molfan (57) 03/24/2006 | I am the thrify one between the two of us. mostly because we have to be.ithink between the two one has to be a bit more thrifty and question some of the things we buy. or we would be way worse in debt than we already are.
