Until recently the world longest steel arch bridge and the second highest(876')bridges in the United States and the highest vehicular bridge in the world until 2004. The New River Bridge is an outstanding engineering feat spanning the New River Gorge National River. Once a year there is a New River Bridge Day in which BASE jumpers from all over the world come to jump off the bridge. There have been a few deaths and Bungee jumping is not allowed. I personally climbed out onto the catwalk(Illegal) and was in awe of the bridge and when a sight seeing plane flew under the arch and i looked down on it I realized i did not belong there and got the hell out! Do not try it the catwalk is narrow and there is nothing but a small hand rail to hold onto and nothing else. Yes it was stupid!
