Ah snap, it is about me! But what this I hear? THE WORLD DOESN'T REVOLVE AROUND ME? (wails loudly) Yeah, I'm the offender here and I REFUSE to apologize for or abandon these feeble weblist outings as long as they are entertaining somebody. That's what numbah and his legion of dumb lists are for, kids. MINDLESS AMUSEMENT! It only works for me I think because I am notorious and prefer it that way...

It's all right--live and let live, say I. We need a balance of listing on the site.

I have made lots of lists but hardly any with "I" in it. I make lists because it is a challenge, fun, and a learning experience.

I did make a Genghis the Hun's World site, but Lawrence banished it into the outer darkness. If you post on it, it doesn't show up in recent comments.

Castlebee more or less summed it up in one go. I avoid these lists like the plague as I find them too self-serving, no purpose whatsoever to this site, boring and pretty much trying to flog a dead horse. Are these people so empty in their personal lives that they have to come on a website on a daily basis creating an "appreciate me" weblist about the one topic concerning "Me, myself and I" gaining approval from people some of them whom they barely even know?? It reeks of sad bordering pathetic. You know who you are, I shall say no more.

Nothing says needy like an all about MEEEEE list. It more than implies that...

1. You are actually naive enough to think the entire site gives a bleep what you think at all times and...

2. You think the world still revolves around you - an idea most people abandon at around age five.

If you do so for this reason...be careful of what you ask for. You stand a greater chance of giving a bad impression if you dont come over really prepared and intelligent. If your gonna rant about yourself, it better be interesting, entertaining or both...kind of like the real world.

This always seems the most likely reason people do this.

I see this time and time again on RIA and it boils down to raising the visibility of the rater. I guess it is probably successful in many cases but there are many lists out there designed to rate reviewers by who they are, their lists, those who believe on God (or not), those who have relationships with other RIA raters and on and on. I asked for my name to be taken off some of these lists but it has shown up on others. Im not saying they are all bad but to create a list about yourself may be.
