I don't know. It's kind of like someone sitting down at your table and saying HEY, I know! Let's talk about ME. These people wouldn't be bored so much as boring.

Probably a lot of lists are made for this reason and it shows by the quality of the list. But even so, out of boredom creativity can emerge and a great weblist can spring forth. With this said I'm not sure boredom and creating a weblist about oneself is a good mix unless it is done with a lot of creativity and not with a self-serving attitude. You can always tell the true intent behind the weblist creator.

I have made some weblists that could fall under the "it's all about me..." category. I didn't make them for attention; I made them because I had nothing better to do with my time :) I have made so many weblists since I've been here, it's almost hard to stay 100% creative 24/7 with them.
