i have tried them all! avg, bit defender, mcafe, avira, norton kaspersky etc. none of them as good as avast and the best af all ITS FREE!

I have used the free version of Avast for the past 2 years of so. I have it loaded on three of my computers and have NEVER had a virus slip through. Avast updates its database almost on a daily basis. Highly recommended!

It`s free & i`ve been using this program for 18 months now. The updates are very timely.....sometimes twice or more per day. It scans P2P & incoming email, which for a free program is top class. Only downside is that System Scans can take an awfully long time.

In the past I have used avast!, Norton, McAfee and AVG(free) for my anti-virus needs. Of these 4 avast! is my favorite. Best of all it's free and works just as effectively as the anti-virus software that you fork out big bucks for. One slight drawback is that if you do a thorough scan of your system make sure that you don't plan on using you're computer for a while. These scans can take several hours. But it's free and effective and I'm cheap.
