One of the few musicals I own. Robert Preston is great as "Professor" Harold Hill and Shirley Jones as Marian the Librarian is wonderfull. Paul Ford and Herminne Gingold (sp?) as the Mayor and his wife are terrific as well. Fine family entertainment and the music is very up-lifting.

Always one of the best, especially the 101 trombone number. In the original 1963 movie Ron Howard, Shirley, (hottie), Jones and suprisingly, Buddy Hackett!!!
