People will definitely think you have something on the ball! I recommend sea turtle boots. Since that is an endangered species leather, you'll get extra comment. You gotta go to Mexico, buy the sea turtle boots there, and wear them back across. Otherwise customs takes a dim view of sea turtle leather.

Hang on - I think maybe I read about this look in the companion book to 'Queer Eye for the Straight Guy'. Might make you look metrosexual, but smart? I don't know.
