 | Underspin (24) 04/18/2006 | As someone married to a foreigner, I'm obviously sympathetic to those who wish to obtain citizenship, as I can attest it is not an easy process, esp if you (like me) don't have $5,000 to piss away on an attorney. Nonetheless, it is important to note that the fastest way is not always the best way, particularly if it means if the applicants' screening process might become less thorough. Truth is, such an intricate, detailed process will likely never be quick, esp when the number of applicants increases each year and the Dept of Immigration continues to remain overwhelmed. Quality vs quantity; these are the two primary issues at hand...

Does becoming an American mean you shed all pride in your heritage? Certainly not the case with most Anglo-Saxon citizens.
