Not bad, by the standards of the genre, largely because most of the episodes were directed by the legendary Sam Peckinpah.

my father was a huge western fan. so the TV was tuned to Westerns a lot. I do not remember a lot of them unless they continued into the 60s. I do remember the Rifleman some. I think because he had a young son he looked after. they show it on one of the western channels on cable TV.this one was okay. a dad taking care of his boy after the mom died.I do remember the opening of Chuck Conner firing his rifle down the street. and mark his son.
