Because Dan Brown says so? I wonder what was Dan Brown smoking when he came up with such ridiculous stories?

This theory was coughed up about twenty years ago in "Holy Blood, Holy Grail."

Dan Brown cribbed the concept and got away with it since the courts in England ruled in his favor in the infringement suit.
