It was hot, I was thirsty, it was Mexico, and after drinking all afternoon at poolside all I could manage when the waiter came by was pointing at some big fruit-filled, umbrella decorated effluence the person beside me was drinking.

04/20/2007 | i tend to agree with numbah's rule of thumb, but i haven't quite outgrown finding it funny to sit down next to someone you don't know at a bar and loudly ordering a tangerini. i will some day.

04/20/2007 | If you order something pink I'll give you crap about it, guys. I'll repeat the code: Man drinks are brown or gold, unless you are poolside or at the beach where green and blue are also okay.
IN ADDITION, all margaritas should be on the rocks or your players club card shall be suspended.

04/20/2007 | Unfortunately, it's true. I'm embarrassed to be seen with a brightly colored drink. Or anything blended rather than on the rocks. Or anything in a curvy glass; a bartender can thereby hint to us guys that our order of a tequila sour (or anything sour, for that matter) was a bad idea. It's too bad. In Hawaii, however, all the rules are suspended. Guys, you can drink whatever you want there without fear.
