Let me start by saying that this new feature is getting two stars from me not because I don't know why RIA has added it, but rather because it has little value to me in relation to some of the other improvements. With that said, I have to admit that I rarely look at the RIA home page, as my saved bookmark is directly to my profile from where I navigate the site. Due to this preference, I rarely see the featured reviewer section. Moreover, is there any rhyme or reason as to who is picked? Nevertheless, the feature does (I suppose) give an ego boost and some satisfaction to the chosen member and some recognition from those who are inclined to pay attention to those sorts of things.

I have no feeling one way or the other ie I dont have a negative or positive feeling. It is more of a feature of interest to me. I find it interesting to see who the reviewer of the day will be, it will probably never be me though! Can give your confidence a bit of a boost if your name is there.
