 | fedupwithitall (0) 09/24/2005 | Best part of a Nascar Race: The first 5 minutes and the last 5 minutes. Everything else is just a loop.
Although some others I know "live" for Sunday races! If it works for them, Enjoy the chase!

 | texasyankee (21) 08/30/2005 | I love NASCAR. It's fun, yes the fans leave a bit to be desired but then again so do basketball and baseball's. I like it, that's all I know. Look forward to every Sunday or Saturday night.
BTW When I went to see nascar at Texas, I seen that for every redneck there, there was normal everyday people too who also enjoyed the races, and really got into it. To say it is redneck sport is very stereotypical. People from all over and all walks of life love NASCAR.
To be honest, there is a driver that fits everyone's own personality and that is who we tend to enjoy watching, curse when they crash, become impatient of why aren't they coming back, laugh when they manage to loosen someone up and end up ecstatic if they finish top 10; let alone win the race.
My husband likes Jeff Gordon, I like Bobby Labonte but we agree on our second favorite, and that's Mark Martin. He is the only one of the 3 who has a chance of winning this year, and of all the ones up there, we would love to see Martin take the cup.

 | souljunkie (20) 05/06/2005 | I am only beginning to understand the racing fan at all now due to my 12 year old sons total love and aptitude for machinery/cars. I can run a pa system anywhere, anyhow and play a mean guitar but I have to hire someone to change and oil filter! I can now understand when you feel this way about motors in general, how 50 cars running around the track over and over again can be exciting. Racing is much more than just the drivers and the cars.

 | ellis (2) 02/26/2005 | It's a bunch of guys driving cars really fast around the track. What's so great about that?

 | Jar-Jar Binks (16) 02/24/2005 | I'm not a Nascar fan nor do I care to watch it. ... If it's overrated, why is the race track filled with more than 200,000 fans? Nascar must be doing something right.

 | sfalconer (21) 12/24/2004 | How can Nascar be over rated it is the most popular form of auto racing in the USA. Hundreds of thousands of people through out the country pay to see this sport live every year. We have two open wheel organizations and thet can barely fill one stand at most of their races. I would actually prefer to watch open wheel on road courses but right now the driving talent is not their.

 | irishgit (146) 12/24/2004 | Screw it. This isn't a sport, this is rush hour at speed. And as for the jughead fans, and the mallethead participants, well there the only words that come to mind are Fetal Alcohol Syndrome

 | Mad Hatter (37) 12/22/2004 | I love how people are saying that NASCAR is overrated. NASCAR rules. The only auto racing league that is overrated is F1 racing. It is too predictable. Schumacher always wins.

 | louiethe20th (75) 08/20/2004 | I am not much of a NASCAR fan, but I did like Dale Sr. real well. The fans make this sport less than desirable.Someone needs to put Tony Stewart's lights out, I do know that much!

 | Moosekarloff (18) 08/17/2004 | An attempt of the boors and Philistines in corporate boardrooms to make hicks of the rest of us. All this hype, media attention, advertising tie-ins, etc., for a terribly boring and absolutely unnecessary redneck pasttime, and the rest of the country, after a momentary curiosity, isn't buying into it. Maybe Rufe and Kile and Newt and Raylene and Tammy go in for this mindless crap, but those folks in the civilized parts of this country took one look at this nonsense when it was rolled out nationally a couple of years back and reached immediately for the remote. Click. Ah, re-runs of Three's Company. That's better. In fact, white noise and test patterns would be an improvement.

 | scarletfeather (49) 08/12/2004 | Apparently lots of folks find NASCAR hugely entertaining, but I am not one of them. As I've said before, seems like anybody could get in a car and race around a track.

 | minkey (36) 08/12/2004 | Maybe it's because I have no appreciation for it, but I find Nascar very boring. I'll go to the horse track once in a while but the difference there is that the races end very quickly and you can bet on each race. Nascar races take forever and are very monotonous. The 1 fun thing to see is a crash but you can catch those highlights on sportscenter.

 | numbah16tdhaha (152) 08/12/2004 | Screw you all. Nascar rules and you run the risk of angering me if you call this overrated. Fast cars piloted by 43 jerks who don't really like each other very much. Pit crews even fight when these fantastic knuckleheads have issues.
