I don't use this everyday but when I don't feel like washing dishes, or when preparing food for the Holidays, you can't beat owning one. I find it very helpful when I do use it, but with only two to wash dishes for, I usually end up wasing by hand most of the time.

Probably one of the appliances used most often at my house. It definitely saves a lot of time and energy.

I could live without a dishwasher but where would the fun be if you couldn't put liquid dishsoap in and make it overflow? :)

Life would be considerably more difficult without my dishwasher.

I can't remember life before my dishwasher. . .it's constantly running because we do a lot of cooking at my house.

The problem is, unless it contains an internal garbage disposal system, you have to wash the dishes before you put them into the dish washer. Doesn't take much more energy just to wash them.

Its definitely not a necessity, but man is it nice to have. I know that dishes tend to pile up a lot less in a sink with a dishwasher, compared to a sink where all of the washing is done by hand.

Beats handwashing, but its not vital.

Maybe it's because I grew up without a dishwasher, well not entirely true since I was the dishwasher at least until I was thirteen or so, but I have always appreciated the convenience and time savings of the dishwasher.
