If it had a way of making each slice the same width, it would be helpful but it is not much easier to use this than to use a sharp knife. However, it did do a good job in my husband's hands to cut up our turkey and ham for Christmas. I think it went faster than it would have with just a regular knife. If it was a good peice of equipment, it would be used more, is my opinion. We use things that work. That is why our apple peeler is still sitting there unused.

Got one as a wedding present, used it twice. Once on a roast, the other time to cut a large foam matress in half. It did a great job on the matress.

if you have a good set of sharpened knives then this is a waste of electricity.
