They made an excellent first round pick in Defensive tackle Haloti Ngata, who will be able to plug some holes and take the pressure off of the team's LB led by Ray Lewis. Another defensive pick, CB David Pittman, will also join the team. They also made some significant upgrades on offense, selecting center Cris Chester, WR Demetrius Williams and runningback P.J. Daniels. Daniels was selected to inject some youth into the RB position. Jamal Lewis isn't getting any younger after all. Overall, this along with their offseason move to acquire QB Steve McNair should make this team much more competitive. They're still in a tough division though, making it all the more interesting. There's a decent chance that the Ravens will make the playoffs this year as a wild-card team.

I also like the pickup of PJ Daniels to step in and take on some of the role that Chester Taylor filled the last few years. They filled several other needs with a blocking tight end and several defensive backs.
