Greenway is a good LB, but his combine numbers were very weak and he needs to get stronger to be a justified first round pick.
I think Carpenter would have been the better pick, even with the lingering ankle injury. He ran a quick 40 on an ankle that isn't 100%. He seems stronger then Greenway, but then again, playing next to a guy like Hawk may make a LB look a lot better then he actually is.
The tackle they got in the second, Cook, is an overweight pick, and a reach. He should have went as late as the 5th round. The QB they selected, Jackson, was again a reach. He has a strong arm, but he lacks other qualities needed to develop into a starting QB.
He can develop, but they still could have gotten a better QB at that position.
They had 2 good picks, 2 bad picks and 2 other picks that are at par. Their overall draft can be, at best, considered on par with the rest of the league.
It was nothing all that great, but nothing all that bad.
Lets just say that they had 4 high picks and the draft itself should have been better.

05/02/2006 | The Vikings had only 6 picks, but four of those were in the first 64 selections. Chad Greenway is a good linebacker, and should help the Vikings underwhelming defense.
