I am a Detriot fan, and I can admit that this was one of the better drafts they have had under Millen (still not as good as when they selected Jones and R. Williams though), but it was still only on par.

The majority of their draft was very good, getting value (like last year) out of their later picks. I like the addition of Bullocks, who is an instant starter in the place of the out of place Terrance Holt.

It was a good sign that they addressed the defense early (obviously this occured with Marinelli's influence), but I still think they didn't really succeed.

What they should have done is trade down, getting (if they really wanted him) Sims later, and hopefully either getting an additional late 1st or early 2nd round pick.

Leinart was still on the board, and I am sure that would have been enough for a time like the Ravens to move up.

Thus, they would have been able to selected Bullock and maybe even get Winston Justice as well. If that would have occured, it could have been one of the better drafts in the league.

Without Huff available, they should have traded down, as there were LBs still on the board with talent at least similar to Sims'.

They were in a position for a better draft, but it still worked out okay.

Plus, Sims has reoccuring concussion problems because he plays so hard. It is not a good sign.

They have address the offense with their highest pick for the last many years, and its a good sign that Millen may not have as much sway with Marinelli as he did with Mariucci.

With Marinelli running the team with a defensive mindset, and Martz running the offense, the Lions well improve in the years to come.

It would only be better if Jauron stayed, but it still looks for now to be okay.

The Lions finally went without picking a WR after 3 years of using their 1st Round selection on one. Instead they looked to strengthen their defense with Ernie Sims from Florida State and Daniel Bullocks from Nebraska. They seem to have gotten solid talent all around, and this should make for a good draft for the Lions.
