Not their greatest CD but hey, Avenged Sevenfold is still very talented, and it takes a daring band to change their sound how they did.

NOTE: He didn't damage his vocal chords, they decided as a band that they wanted to change their sound. I just love how the critics always use the rumors as their facts and not the facts.

Sevenfold is the awesome. And no, he didn't damage his voice, they just made the choice to not scream. His 'strained' voice is what makes him different. And the drummer, The Rev has MAD skills. Sevenfold is so completly awesome. Up there with My Chem =] They're tied. lol.

Put simply, not even close to Avenged Sevenfold's previous albums. M. Shadows (lead vocals) damaged his voice before this album was made and the "choice" was made that he wouldn't scream on this album or on tour anymore. This is the worst detail of the whole package because he had a killer scream that was ridiculously strong in "Waking The Fallen". If you are looking for a more hardcore type metal band, go somewhere else. Now for the good parts, the album is very catchy and is pleasing musically, just again the only thing holding it back is M. Shadows strained out voice that isn't at its former peak.
