 | GenghisTheHun (181) 02/17/2007 | Scientists have pondered over the power of the AOTC. Supposition includes the opinion that the gold sheets built up a large electric charge inside the Ark and it acted as a super zapper-battery of some kind. Touching the Ark could nail the unwary as happened when King David was hauling the Ark from its resting place to Zion. On the way to Zion, Uzzah, one of the drivers of the cart upon which the Ark was carried, put out his hand to steady the Ark and was smitten by the Lord for touching it (2 Sam. 6:1-11; 1 Chron. 13:1-13).
The Ark was lost when the Babylonians plundered Jerusalem. Many stories exist of the fate of the Ark.
My favorite is the Ethiopian Theory. It seems that the son of King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba, Menelik I, boosted the Ark, and it finally wound up in the Horn of Africa where it still remains. It still contains all its ancient powers.
