 | Drummond (54) 05/08/2006 | It's bad enough that the majority of attackers were Saudis, yet due to the Bush family connections with Saudi's elite, Saudis are exempt from the anti-terror profiling. This effort to turn management of the ports over to a country that is a major funding source of terror could amount to the very definition of "jutzpa."

 | Djahuti (54) 05/08/2006 | Despite their constant babble about "National Security",this Administration has done next to nothing about making our country less susceptible to terrorist acts. While they spend our taxes to spy on Law Abiding Citizens, they allow people to easily cross the border undetected. While we are put in debt paying for the damage done by bombing Iraq, who were NOT involved in 9/11,there is a severe lack of funding for OUR emergency response teams and hospitals (witness the Katrina debacle). Our nuclear reactors are poorly guarded while oil fields in Iraq get priority status. If you do not question the sanity and integrity of a man who wanted to allow a Saudi Arabian Company to control major US ports, you have a lot of homework to do.Keep in mind that countries well known support and collusion with terrorists, and the very real friendship of the Bush family with the Bin Ladens. UPDATE:as for those who try and say this is "discrimination" against Arabs- YOU supported the BOMBING of a Country based on that! PLUS,personally,I don't think ANY Foreign Entity should be controlling our Ports. If we can't keep OUR OWN COUNTRY SECURE,what the hell are we doing trying to "secure" the situation elsewhere? It doesn't add up,bub.

 | Underspin (24) 05/07/2006 | Bush & Co were clearly asleep at the wheel on this one...how they let it slip through their grasp there's no telling, but this unwise, puzzling, naive decision cost them serious political clout at a time when they least can afford to spend it.

 | EschewObfuscation (61) 05/05/2006 | Mag is right, this is one of the stupidest governmental initiatives (and most damaging) since 9/11/01. Somehow, knee jerk liberals found traction with the press with this issue and embarrassed the country with a temper tantrum fit for a spoiled two year old. There was just no end to the stupidity. I thought they hated racial profiling.
