 | JohnSpina (17) 05/11/2006 | It would be interesting indeed to see why these 2 men changed political orientation in midstream. What causes that?Is it because as my hero Dutch Reagan said:I did not leave the party. It left me.Or was there a precipitating factor that would drive one to "change teams"?
One man's opinion:These folks were never superideological to start. In Horowitz' case, however,as far as I remember he was a left winger to the max.In Brock's case,he may have not exactly been nominated for the Barry Goldwater award for right wing thought. In the cases I have seen someone who switched felt that the old party went too far in one direction to suit them. For example,a lot of folks think that an element of the Republicans is too concerned with private behavior whereas these same people feel that the Democrats are too apologetic for people who want to harm us.
