The Lone Ranger 1949-1957 2

The Lone Ranger is the stereotypical western. The writing was poor, the cinematography only slightly better. It is a case study in the weaknesses of the genre.

Another great cowboy good guy! Maybe just a little more darker in mood than Roy Rogers, but still wonderfully campy. Two memorable lines from that series; "Hi-yo, Silver" and "Who was that masked man?"

The masked man had a nice right cross and his main man was Tonto-an Indian. Of all the characters in TV history,I gotta wonder what would become of a great character like Tonto today, played by the late great Jay Silverheels. Probably no group of people has been screwed with by political correctness, like Indians. If you use terms like Redskins or Warriors for example, with some folks, you may as well say German Hitlers. If the Lone Ranger came back, maybe they'd have to add an Archie Bunker character to run some interference.
