Good player. I always kind of liked the Celtics, and Toney was all over Boston when the two teams played!

as a sixers fan who hates the celtics with a passion, i have nothing but love for the Boston Strangler.

I loved Andrew Toney. He could explode like no other player in his era - when he had his jumper going he was just about unguardable. Of all the great Sixers of that era, Toney was the one that scared Larry Bird the most, and the only one that Barkley was intimidated by when he joined the Sixers. If his feet had stayed healthy, he could have been up there with the great scoring guards of his generation.

The nastiest clutch shooter of his era.

Injuries cut Toney's career short, but anyone who saw him remembers one of the most underrated players of his era. . .great defensive skills and (in a very un-Philadelphia-esque manner) showed up to play in big games hence the nickname "The Boston Strangler"
