friends can be mentors. since we choose our friends it is hopeful if there are good things about them we will learn from them. I sure have learned from my friends.

My best friend was a man by the name of Steve Wallace, he died of a heart attack about six years ago so I don't think he would mind if I used his name. He was five years older than me. He was my fishing buddy, drinking buddy and my just about everything else buddy. This is the guy that taught me to slow down and not take life to serious. He was such an amazing guy. He was the epitome of honor, integrity, mercy and endurance. Qualities that I also believed in but he reinforced them. He used to laugh when I told him he reminded me of Kwai Chang Caine (first pointed out to me by my brother)from the Kung Fu series. Not so much because of martial arts but because of the simplicity of his life and the honesty of it. His life and his death had a profound affect on me and he is greatly missed.
