No,Not really.  she seems to think she is a mentor always thinking she is right.   cannot consider her a mentor or teacher.  not able to think of anything I could learn from her. kind of hard to look up to someone who usually behaves like a defiant five year old brat.

I've had two.  The first one taught me nothing.

The second one did her best to teach me that I was a son of a bitch.  But since I already knew that, it was a waste of time.

I would have to say my mother in law is the one who influences me the most, and still is the one I refer to when I wonder what I should do with my kids or in life in general. I can't get along with living with her (not easy having 2 bossy women in 1 household), and it took me a little while to appreciate her, but all in all, she's a very good person.

From what I've seen, they seem to be more of a pain in the ass than a mentor or teacher.
