Seems kind of rude to actually point this stuff out to people - and gives you the appearance of a professional hall monitor. Letting it alone just lets the stupidity speak for itself. It's not so much the spelling error occurring (we're all guilty of that from time to time) it's more amazing that it didn't dawn on the dolt to simply run the text through a word processing spell checker to begin with. Your only conclusion could be that they are either lazy, stupid or both.

I don't care, really. I only find it funny when someone belittles a person's intelligence and makes a grammatical/spelling error all in the same sentence. Oh, the irony . . .

I decided to room hop in the Yahoo chatrooms before, and i got badmouthed in another room for misspelling a womans chatname. Since i felt humilated, i went back to my favorite chatroom to stay with the same ole people.

Yeah, that "definately" sucks...oh, yes...he knows who I'm talkin' about UPDATE: Ridge wrote "He's definately to blame. Bad Georgie...." (sniff...salt on the wound, Ridge...salt on the wound...opens beer, gets over it)

Clinton's fault (just trying to keep Es happy). That and the illicit b'job. Update- I mention the b'job, not because I give a damn about it personally...I mean, that's between him, his wife, and Monica, or at least should be...but because after years of obsessive pursuit, and millions of dollars squandered (Jeepers, why so much hate? Ideological differences, or something a little more perverse and dark maybe?), that's pretty much all the conservatives could nail him on, lying about a b'job. Honorable? Admirable? Hardly. I was never a member of the Clinton fan-club. Then again, it sort of pales in comparison when you put it up against what Bush is responsible for...but you're a smart guy, you know that all already, it just doesn't bother you all that much. Like the slogan says- "For God's sake, will somebody give Dubya a b'job so we can impeach him?"

Or your grammatical utilization. Wow, ed, "illicit? " I'd never use that term for it but it's certainly progress for YOU to characterize the b'job (which is a quaint term but has nothing to do with my ideological distaste for Bill Clinton, though YOU seem to accord it a great deal of importance) as illicit, meaning not allowed by law or custom. I would have thought you'd deem it perfectly alright for a 53 year old married executive to solicit oral sex from a 19 year old single subordinate. For you to call that illicit is certainly progress. Stunning, also. A poster's ability (or inability) to spell correctly has nothing to do with the intellectual points he/she makes.

I have been guilty of typos. I am sure I have spelled words wrong. Not on purpose. It would be rude if someone came on and always wrote to correct someone over every word. That would be petty. It would only be annoying for me if someone came on and talked all slang like Vudija pointed out by spelling everything wrong on purpose.
KhloeKat 06/01/2006
If it's a common error due to typing too fast.. ie: "teh" instead of "the" .. Then i get extra mad if people correct me. If im trying to prove a point that i am an excellent speller and i spell a word wrong.. then its my fault for being a Dummy. But i never post anything about being an excellent speller since i know im Pants at it ;)

We all make typos or press "submit" before checking things thoroughly,but,really-constant misspellings DO make you look pretty stupid. If it bothers you that much, get a dictionary!

It just depends on how the person spells, as to how I'll react to it. Typos are a given, we all make them, but sometimes you KNOW that it's a spelling mistake because it's spelled WAY off or it's from those intentional "chatspeak" people. I try to let things slide, as I know that I can be bad about correcting every single little thing. I've gotten better, but I'll definitely say something if this obvious mistake starts or ends with anything like, "lyke OMG, i go 2 skewl, so im lyke so smarter!" (yea, you don't know how many times a teen girl will try to debate on intelligence using THAT as her way of speaking).

I only give people crap about essential words, like when some moron tried to waive his credentials in my face on this very website and spelled his job title wrong. At least get the important stuff right. I work in satellite and thats a hard word to spell, but you don't see me butchering that, do you?
