Middle of the street:minor problem-MIddle of Nowhere-much worse.Look at the bright side:The more you are blocking traffic, the faster a towtruck will come.

Also Bush's fault (in spite of ed's restraint in laying the blame appropriately) as the president is also responsible to maintain all cars in the US properly.

I used to travel to NY a lot, and my biggest fear (literally) was that I'd either break down in the Lincoln Tunnel or on the Cross Bronx Expressway. Thankfully, I was spared...

That would definitely suck. Hopefully, as Jed mentioned; you aren't so unlucky as to hit major traffic, especially with any other possibly dangerous road situations. I, personally, have only had this problem once. If I remember correctly (as I was only 4); it was a transmission problem. Luckily, we lived in a town of less than 1000 people, so traffic was virtually unheard of.

can be very upsetting. Especially on a busy street and now some jerk thinks it will help my car to start by honking at me. it can be stressful now wondering what is wrong with my car and what is it going to cost to fix it.

Yup.. definitely sucks. And if your luck is really bad you'll be smack in the middle of one of the busiest intersections in town.. at rush hour.. during a rain storm.

This happened to me, and it really sucks. It's a dangerous situation, and you'd think that other drivers would be sympathetic, but they don't care. Here I am in the middle of the street, and some jerkwad curses me out. Not cool dudes.
