I used to love his shows but now he's "gone celebrity".  The audience, the band, the guest stars....too much!!

He's a good cook, but I can't stand his BAM! He's super annoying

I will admit that Emeril knows his trade. He is a trained chef from the prestigious Johnson & Wales and he has earned his stripes as well. His expertise is in the Cajun/Creole dishes that he learned as an up and coming chef as well as the Portuguese cooking that he grew up with. I have even dined at a couple of his famous restaurants, one was very good the other was sub par. I enjoy watching his show The Essence of Emeril where he cooks without the hoopla and theatrics of an audience. He is excellent when he sticks to what he knows and was trained in, however when he tries to recreate a dish, mostly a bakery item, he is dismal. I cannot stomach his show Emeril Live anymore, the kick it up a notch! and bams! began to grate on me. I also own a few of his cookbooks that I have as yet found one recipe that I used.

i used to like him but its the same old thing every show with a bunch of people in the audience oohing and aahing over nothing and flashing cheesy smiles.

Still the best. my favorite, but he should be careful that he doesn't soon suffer from over exposure. This man can cook anything and everything. BAM!
