I had one cat named Prince who was fascinated by the human bath ritual.He'd perch on the edge of the tub and watch.One time he fell in with me,and luckily did not claw any of my essential parts! I also had a real character called Vachel who was the ONLY cat I ever knew who didn't mind getting wet.He used to swim in our kiddie pool (a quick dip and across to the other side.)He was a longhair,and I guess he liked to cool off in the summertime.He also liked flinging water everywhere as he shook off.In winter,he'd play in the snow and come in like a snowball with 4 feet and jump on your lap to defrost!

Sometimes (on very rare occasions), it has to be done, but it's a two-person job, and usually involves some time of personal injury for either my husband or myself. But, at the end, you get a very, VERY unhappy cat (who looks a great deal thinner and like the most pathetic and indignant creature you could ever imagine), and after a lot of cuddling and drying, she'll run under our bed and refuse to come out for the rest of the day.
