08/27/2006 | As the other comments have noted, Beatrice Arthur's biggest problem in the looks department is her clearly masculine features, which aren't helped by her relatively deep voice. She usually looks like a bad sex change operation. Even the name Maude (her title character from her 70's television show for those who don't know) sounds masculine, which I'm sure was the point. Of course none of this is news to her, as she has made a career out of this. Beatrice Arthur (aka Bernice Frankel) was born May 13, 1923 in New York City.

06/16/2006 | She's always being lampooned by not too clever comedians but, to my eyes, she's just average looking. Her generation tended to smoke which causes the voice to drop as time goes by - nothing new to my ears there.
