My post is underneith this one, the first of them that is....here is the follow up.

We did get ahold of this manager-owner person, whoever the hell this whack-job is. His name is Dennis. People BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!! The man says he has been in the business for 44 years with the mentality and business sence of a 4 yr old child. Though I believe that a 4 yr old is probably brighter. The man believes he nor his employees can do no wrong. I have been to bagel eateries around the world, litterally....never before have I heard of bagels being made the previous day for the next day sales and called fresh. Never before have I heard of bagel batter being good for 3 days (which he says is how he does it and it is FRESH (RIIIIGHT)) and never before have I heard so many contridictions in one mans story. Normally when that kind of talk happens, someone is completely making up stories and talking out their ASS. I could tell by talking to him, that he is one of those dangerous people that smiles all the time when they talk to you like a used up car sales-man, because they are trying to do nothing but get away with and hide something, or a lot of things in this case, but you are never quite sure exactly what it is,,,and that is the dangerous thing. And in this case, it could costs someone their lives...in food poisoning or sending someone to the morgue by making their lungs collapse. He said that all of his employees are perfekt little angels and none of them would EVER act that way...that there is no issue with the bleach and that he himself taught them how to use it.....but never said HOW he uses it. (Obviously, it is the wrong and I mean WRONG way....but how can someone with a 4 yr old mentality use bleach properly anyways?).

The health dept has been notified on this establishment and until your health dept gives them the all clean (which I dont see happening anytime soon) I would stay FAR away!

This place is horrible and I mean HORRIBLE. I not only got a stale bagel that had not only no flavor to ANY of the meats etc that they put on it, but the bagel itself was stale, aweful and out of date. PLUS, the people working in the place are nothing but air headed bimbos that should go back to kindergarden to get some mannors training. Also, they had stale water with a mop sitting right by their drink fountain, the smell of bleach was so horrible that I had to leave the store due to my sinuss now being so inflamed and my lungs burning.

This place should close.

We love having breakfast and/or lunch with Dennis and his staff. They are friendly, local, and the bakery items are spectacular! See you there...

Best focaccia sandwiches ever. Plus dozens of different kinds of bagels. WAYYY better than Brugger's because its supporting a local business. It's a favorite among Drake, Roosevelt, and Hoover students.
