He was not my generation and I didn't listen to his music at all so for me it did not affect me at all.

Well he had drug problems I think. Mike Holly on this site probably believes that Courtney Love did him off. Well, maybe....

Certainly a bummer. . .and radio has been on a consistent 10-year-slide, but Cobain's suicide disappointed me- if you aren't tough enough to deal with life, then quitting certainly isn't the answer and that always bothered me. . .his was a selfish act because he left a daughter behind- the music was important but family comes first. . .

Well,he shot himself-so I'm pretty sure he wanted out.He suffered from continual back pain(part of how and why he got addicted to heroin).Nirvana was not a favorite of mine, but they did some great stuff, and they also helped put heavy music back into airplay after a long stretch of really tame and sickening "pop".I think Cobain was a good song writer,at the very least.

I feel very bad for people who select this way out instead of seeking help. It probably doesn't seem to them as though they have a choice at this point. Yes, it's always tragic and, in many ways, selfish when you think of what they leave behind.

His death cemented his legacy and kept him from playing the state fair like Pearl Jam.
