Like Hank Williams and Buddy Holly before her she made an enormous impact on the music world in a remarkably short time and was taken from us at the height of her popularity and creative power.  She is still today cited as an influence by almost every female vocalist in Nashville and beyond.

Just wehen I think I'm not a country music fan,I hear 'Crazy' from some jukebox;she was somethin'  ,weren't she?

A wonderful talented singer. one of the best of the country women. a strong earthy voice that was hard to match. she already survived a bad car crash and came back to her singing. a plane crash in her thirties ended her career. she surely would have gone on for years with that terrific voice of hers.
