She was quite good. She really didn't choke to death while eating-I think she had heart problems maybe-she died of natural causes, maybe related to her obesity.

I can't say that I was ever an ardent fan of the Mamas and Papas, or Cass Elliot as a solo act, but the beauty of the songs they created is still potent decades later, and they were certainly an integral part of the cultural scene of the 1960's. I remember I was an unhappy teen stuck in a summer camp somewhere near the Delaware River when I heard that she had died. The story I heard for years was that she had choked to death on a ham sandwich. Another scurrilous myth, I guess, that just won't go away...sort of like Jayne Mansfield being decapitated in that fatal car accident of 1967.

I was sad to hear of her death. she was only in her early 30s and left a little girl behind. she had a beautiful singing voice. if she were around today, would have loved to see her record a standards album. she sang dream a little dream of me so nicely.talented lady.

The rumor I heard was that she choked on a sandwich. It doesn't matter because neither was true of course. She led a somewhat lonely life never able to kick the food habit. She was a great talent.

Mama Cass' death is even more tragic in that the media twisted her death. Her weight was a big contributer because she had a heart attack but please people, she did NOT choke to death on a donut. Let the woman rest in peace.
