He lived a good while and died from natural causes, but yes, I wish he could have lasted a bit while longer-he was a great talent.

Johnny Cash... a true legend.

I agree with edt4! Johnny Cash's life may have been sad at times, but it was hardly tragic. Yes, he lost his beloved brother in a freak accident, was tormented by a father who largely was unable to show how much he truly loved him, and was a hardcore drug addict and abuser. But he also had a lovng wife in June Carter, and a legacy of music which is still heard by the world (and imitated by so many of today's entertainers like Michael Buble). The Man in Black was an icon of the music world (much less country music).

Sad, but not tragic. John lived a full life, reached a ripe old age, and left behind a hell of a legacy.

He lived several lifetimes worth of life in his time here, left a mainly positive musical legacy and went out on a career high. Not tragic.
