I always round off. If the cut is $27.00, I give a twenty and a ten and "keep the change."

Usually I do. we only go in for haircuts. and to an affordable place to us. but we always give them a tip. Unless they are nasty and rude or do a horrible job. I can only think of one time I did not tip the hairdresser. and that was because the all of the employees were being snotty. they made me wait longer than anyone and even took a couple people ahead of me. they made it clear they only wanted to wait on certain people. I have no idea why they got it in their minds why I was not good enough. It was not a fancy place at all. so NO tip. for the most part I do tip.

Unless they do a bad job, I don't see why you'd even question giving them the tip.

My cousin is a hair dresser and she is really good at it. Because she doesn't work for herself, the tip that she gets basically pulls her through from month to month. If she didn't get a tip, she would be in a different place. That should sum it up.

But of course only if they did a good job, if not you probably won't be going back so it really doesn't matter.

Please! It's my kids' college fund. To be honest, I was oblivious to this one until I married a hairstylist. My previous stylists must have figured me for a real cheapskate.

I always give a tip to my hairdresser. They are always friendly and do a good job. That should be honored. Its not their salon so they dont make a big profit and are happy when i give some tip.

I have had the same hairdresser for 12 years. I have followed her through two location moves. I have stubborn hair and she not only knows how to handle it but is helpful in saving me money too...she gets good tips.

If they are friendly and they talk to me they get a tip but if its just clip clip and see you later well hey I am just another head so why would they expect a tip.

Like a taxi driver or a waiter, I was raised to tip the person who cuts your hair. I accept this as part of the price, and have always tipped my barber.
