I am a dancer, however i feel that a gratuity(tip) is something that is etiquette and/or optional. not a requirement. in any industry working off of tips, (including mine) I feel that it is only fair that the more effort the person puts in to their job, the more $ they should be given as a show of gratitude or appreciation from the people they are tending to. if someone goes through the motions and still does their job they should recieve a tip, but the one that puts in the extra effort(i.e. pole tricks and acrobatics ) should recieve that extra dollar. I feel it's only fair.

Well, frankly, yeah. If you are in a place that has strippers tipping is kind of the whole point. It would be like going to the top of the Empire State Building and not looking through the little telescope.

My buddy Nino made an interesting point on this subject which stuck in my head. He's about 45, and in the 80's he'd hit the strip clubs, and he said he'd tip a dollar when the girls where on stage and came over to where you were sitting around and did there little dance. Here we are, 20 years later, and what do most people tip? A dollar. Granted a lap dance is more expensive but I thought it was kind of funny that this is the one industry that hasn't been affected by inflation. To me if a girl is going to take off her clothes for you in a place of business that encourages that sort of thing, you should throw down more than a dollar.

Really? Now I know where the expression "do you know where that dollar has been?" comes from.

Tipping for what? For taking off your clothes in front of a bunch of drunken alcoholics in a bar?

Now I have seen a few in my time and they are not always the gorgeous creatures that most guys think of when some one says stripper. If they are plain to ugly, the only way they will get a tip is if they keep their clothes on.
