Seeger is an old Commie who is still warbling around the country although he was born in 1919.

He toed the Stalinist line just before the USA entered WWII as Hitler and Stalin were pals with their friendly little dictator's pact.

He made a famous pacifist recording, "Songs for John Doe." He was anti-FDR whom he considered not left wing enough and a warmonger, too boot. When Hitler attacked Stalin, after Germany broke the pact, the pacifism of "Songs for John Doe" was hopelessly obsolete and copies were quickly removed from sale. Hilarious!

He wrote quite a few popular songs: "If I Had a Hammer," "Turn, Turn, Turn," "Where Have all the Flowers Gone" and others.

Springsteen is touring the country right now with his Pete Seeger Session concert.

Old leftos never die and they don't fade away, either!

I don't know how anyone could exclusively listen to just ONE musician or group. That's kinda weird. I can see how someone could regard this as PC, but, objectively, keeping politics out of it, credit should be given where it's due. Although some of his music might be corny, melodramatic, or preachy, and much of it could plausibly be construed as dated, Seeger really was one of the seminal and outstanding folk songwriters from around WW2 to the period immediately preceding the rise of Dylan, whether solo or with The Weavers, and he did come up with quite a few standards.
