11/27/2007 | Give him some credit for disavowing Stalin, and ridding the world of a sadistic insect like Beria, but the thing with the shoe...definitely strange. Maybe a shot (or 2) of Vodka would've mellowed him out. Then again, a shot or 2 of Vodka might have done Nixon some good as well.

08/15/2006 | i don't know, he had a reputation as a moderate (in comparison to stalin!), but neverthless, his angry reputation was sealed that time he beat his shoe on his desk in, i believe it was the un during a contentious debate with the united states. i think he seen more as a country bumpkin more than anything else.

06/29/2006 | Most of the film footage I've seen seemed to portray a pretty genial, back-slapping type of politician. A ruthless tyrant, to be sure, but his public persona didn't reveal that except on the odd occasion.. like when he slammed the desk with his shoe at the UN.
Having heard so many negative opinions about the UN on this website I bet many people here might feel the same as he did.

06/29/2006 | I don't know what ticked him off but, he appeared to be in a bad mood quite a bit of the time. Gotta give him points for originality for whipping off the old shoe to become perhaps the only fit throwing prop artist/politician of his day.
