 | Strijdom (3) 02/10/2008 | Tancredo's fearless to express his true beliefs, the raw truth as he sees it. This one trait sets him aside from almost every other politician.

 | abichara (60) 12/11/2007 | Doesn't stand a chance. Tancredo is a one issue candidate. He's simply trying to get the GOP to adapt a strong anti-immigration plank to its platform. And in that regard, he has been quite successful, as almost all the major contenders have gone on a jihad against illegal immigrants. This in solid contrast to their records at times (i.e. Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney). Only Huckabee and McCain have been consistent in their opposition to draconian measures against immigrants.
I anticipate that Tancredo won't last beyond the Super Tuesday primaries. But his impact will be felt all the way to the convention.

 | drskeet (0) 11/01/2007 | Tancredo would make a great VP, but don't think he has the juice to pull off the nomination. I like him, but will not vote for him because of all the good things I could say about him, he still has a neo-con foreign policy.

 | irishgit (138) 07/16/2007 | The guy has some abilities as a candidate, but he is widely perceived as a one note band. Whether or not that's a fair comment, is irrelevant. In politics, perception is reality.
He also has a few skeletons that his fellow GOPers won't be slow to exploit, given his lack of popularity with significant elements of his own party.
His claim of mental illness to avoid serving in Vietnam is almost certain to come up, for example, and is likely to do him a fair bit of damage.
Rumored to be having trouble fund-raising, Tancredo doesn't look likely to make it out of the early primaries.

 | Victor83 (35) 07/12/2007 | Along with Duncan Hunter, the only candidate on either side serious about the illegal migration/ border issue. That said, he probably stands about as much chance of getting the nomination as I do. Republicans don't have room in their "big tent" for common sense solutions or people who might upset the apple cart.

 | SZinHonshu (44) 07/12/2007 | This is my guy because he's 100% right about the most important American political issue of the first half of the 21st Century. In fact, his illegal immigration stance immunizes him to other failings that otherwise might make me reconsider. After all, Evolution as a theory is overrated, right? What the hell did that crazy Charles Darwin know anyway? I hope he makes it as far as the California primary b/c I'm looking forward to checking off the box next to his name on the ballot.

 | solariscp (0) 03/20/2007 | All I can really say about the guy is he's my second choice after Ron Paul. He, along with Ron Paul and Duncan Hunter, is thought very fondly of among the Constitution Party types. I think that says a lot for his integrity and his general conservatism.
