Yes, the acting was wonderful. Hathaway and Streep were great, and the chemistry between Andy and Emily really made you believe it. However, the end of the movie leaves you with an "eh" feeling. You don't walk out feeling happy, scared, sentimental, or anything. To be honest, the plot seemed much like Princess Diaries for awhile, and then had an ethical twist at the end. And if you haven't read the book, you sit there wondering if Nate is going to be mailing Andy grilled cheese sandwiches from Boston, as they both have jobs in different states. The biggest disappointment is the comprimising of values in that Andy does not stick to who she is, and continues to dress in overpriced clothing--and loses a dress size when she is already very healthy looking. This movie makes anyone who is a size bigger than 6 feel fat and not worthy of nice clothing. Overall, the acting was great, the morals were horrible, and the plot leaves you unfulfilled. I wish that this amazing cast would have chosen a better script

well done movie. Meryl Streep was very good as Miranda the controlling boss from hell. she plays the head of a fashoin magazine.she is very powerful and strikes fear in most people who work for her. anne hathaway is Andy her assistant who learns the ropes on her job and how demanding it is. she gets to see the ugly side of the fashion industry.good plot and well done.

Well, I watch Project Runway obsessively (any show where a punk rocker can win the season's design competition is all right by me), so I thought this would be my thing, but it wasn't. For one, this film has those long montages set to pop songs like Madonna's that they used not to have in movies, but are now put there mostly for the sake of selling soundtracks. Secondly, the fly-actress-of-the-month in the lead role was supposed to be the protagonist of a Pygmalion story. Excuse me, but Anne Hathaway is not in the slightest bit dowdy without makeup, let alone overweight/ ugly. If Janeane Garofalo or, um, any normal-looking woman had been in the lead, okay, I could buy it. Still, Meryl Streep was incredible -- the scariest matriarch I've seen since Joan Crawford.

I love this film! I saw it twice in the theater. I loveeeeeeeee the way Meryl's character acted..pure bitch but damn she is very good in the role!!! The other actors were pretty good themselves but Meryl and the secretary definitely stole the show.

The Devil Wears Prada isn't the type of film I will usually watch, but it was not bad. The characters were interesting, and I felt Meryl Streep looked a whole lot like Cruella Deville. This is definitely a must watch film for anybody who loves fashion. While I don't care for it, I did think the film did an excellent job portraying how a desire to be successful in your career really can tear apart the rest of your life.
