Arroyo's good - he's got decent stuff and he was a solid 3rd or 4th starter with the Sox, a guy who will give you a 4.5 era and 10 or 12 wins a season. But as a Sox fan I'm not completely bummed out that he's had the success he's had in the NL. Keep in mind - the NL's a different game for pitchers - instead of facing your most dangerous batter at DH (think Ortiz, Thome, Giambi) - you face a pitcher. 1 batter out of 9 you've got a guaranteed out versus a home run threat. Arroyo has not had a break-through year; he just got traded.

Have to agree with zuchinibut on this one. We're still scratching our heads about this one here in the Boston area.

Arroyo has to be happy about his trade to the Reds right now. He went from an average pitcher in the AL East to an All Star in the NL very quickly. I'm still not quite sure what the Sox were thinking when they wanted Willy Mo Pena for Arroyo.
