Tough in the way that Jerry Quarry was tough. Guys like that just don't give sh*t, they just fight because it's what they do. His personal life is one of the most tragic in boxing. I think two or three of his sons commited suicide. If I'm not mistaken so did his wife. tough way to lose everyone in your life.

Tough as hell, and could absorb punishment like few boxers in history, but he didn't belong in the ring with top level professionals.

Usually blocked punches with his face, and telegraphed pitches so completely he might as well have been sending them by registered mail.

George Chuvalo was one tough boxer. The only problem was he could not block a punch, nor could he throw a very good punch. He was a sponge and soaked up a lot of punches. Joe Frazier and Muhamed Ali both beat him in a couple of tough fights. He was a fierce fierce competitor who never quit.

Chuvalo was tough and strong, but never in the top bracket.

Went ninety-seven professional fights without being knocked down. G.Foreman & J.Frazier never knocked him down. Muhammad Ali has said he wa the toughest man he'd ever boxed and the hardest hitter.
